Simpson's TavernSimpson’s Tavern on Cornhill is a traditional English eatery, tucked away in the alleyways of the City, which has stood on its City foundations since 1757, offering two dining areas and two bars. The welcoming interior is full of Victorian charm, with stall seating and brass hat rails. The Grill Room at Simpson’s Tavern is an old-fashioned chophouse with seating arranged in stalls – so expect to share a table! The restaurant is laid out in a similar fashion and is located on the first floor. Both floors are untainted by modern decoration and host an open grill where you can watch the Simpson’s Tavern chefs prepare your lunch. The British menu features daily specials and popular dishes include Slow Cooked Pork Belly with Crackling, English Mustard Dressing; Traditional Edwardian Pork Chop; English Goats Cheese with Leeks, Tarragon, Roasted Pear in Filo Pastry; and Braised Lamb Shank.The Gentleman’s Bar is an antique original oak bar on the ground floor, serving traditional ales and beers including the best Bass in the City, whilst the Simpson’s Tavern Wine Bar is the perfect place to savour a sandwich, bar snack or just relax with a drink.
