Sheba - Brick LaneSheba has been attracting regulars from Shoreditch and beyond with its menu of Indian and Bangladeshi favourites since 1970, making it one of the oldest restaurants on Brick Lane. Sheba’s welcoming interior with its cushioned banquette seating and earthy tones feels relaxed and contemporary, while the menu of traditional dishes and house specialities is rounded off by set options and a short wine list. Sheba’s menu highlights include Moghul Grilled Chop – Succulent Lamb chops marinated in a blend of aromatic spices grilled to perfection to create thrilling juicy chops baked in tandoori oven; Chicken/ Lamb Shashlik – Chicken or lamb marinated in a special selection of spices, together with tomatoes, peppers and onions. Served with an Indain mint sauce; Lobster Bengal Special – A king lobster marinated for servral hours, slow grilled in clay oven then cooked with chef own special recipe to perfection; Bollywood Blast (Very Hot!!) – Lamb cut in small pieces then cooked in chef’s own special sauce with green chilli, Mexican chilli, naga chilli, African chilli, spring onion and red kidney beans; and Lamb Lucknow – The Lucknow recipe is made using only lamb shank or nalis as they are called in India. It has a rich thick gravy & spicy carrots with aromatic herbs, cardamon essence of korea, screw pine flowers and saffron.
